Our History
Founded in 2004 after an eye-opening trip to Rwanda, Pastors Mark and Darlene Zschech were moved by the tragic aftermath of the 1994 genocide. Their profound connection with the resilient spirit of the Rwandan people led to the creation of “Hope Rwanda: 100 Days of Hope” in 2006. This initiative mirrored the duration of the genocide and was an unprecedented global effort that brought together a diverse group of volunteers—teachers, builders, and musicians—to restore hope and rebuild lives.
Hope Global formed deep bonds within Rwanda, collaborating with local schools, government bodies and communities to elevate educational standards and break the cycle of poverty to achieve sustainable development.
In 2007, we turned our attention to Cambodia. It has now been 45 years since the fall of the Khmer Rouge—a regime that devastated the country’s educational landscape. Hope Global has been actively involved in reconstructing Cambodia’s education system. By partnering with local educators, government officials and NGOs, we continue to be committed to ensuring that quality education reaches every corner of the country, from bustling urban centres to remote rural villages.
We continue to build upon our legacy of transformation and growth, delivering educational advancements, sustainable development, and enhanced quality of life across diverse global settings
