Partner: Wayne & Olga Zschech (OM)
In the midst of ongoing conflict and economic hardship, Wayne and Olga Zschech are leading transformative efforts across Ukraine through Operation Mobilisation (OM). Their work focuses on supporting field workers, discipling local believers, and spearheading innovative projects that address both spiritual and practical needs.
A cornerstone of their ministry is the Clean Soul – Clean City initiative, a groundbreaking program that combines environmental stewardship with community development and discipleship.
What is Clean Soul – Clean City?
Clean Soul – Clean City tackles Ukraine’s significant waste management challenges by converting unrecyclable plastic waste into usable fuel through a process called pyrolysis. This technology heats plastic waste in the absence of oxygen, breaking it down into combustible gases, liquids, and solid fuels like charcoal. The resulting products can be used for heating, electricity generation, and as biofertilizers, providing sustainable energy solutions for local communities
Community Impact
- Employment Opportunities: The initiative creates stable, well-paying jobs for local residents, including those displaced by conflict. By engaging in meaningful work, individuals gain a sense of purpose and dignity.
- Environmental Restoration: By diverting plastic waste from landfills and open burning, the project significantly reduces pollution and improves public health.
- Discipleship and Spiritual Growth: Employees are invited to participate in community meals, Bible studies, and mentorship programs, fostering spiritual development alongside economic empowerment.
- Replicable Model: The success of Clean Soul – Clean City serves as a model for other communities facing similar challenges, demonstrating how faith-based initiatives can drive holistic transformation.
Through Clean Soul – Clean City, Wayne and Olga are not only addressing immediate physical needs but are also cultivating long-term spiritual and societal renewal in Ukraine.
