Well Of Life

Water is life.  We have all heard the statistics – 1 in 10 people in the world lack access to clean water. That is roughly 663 million people – twice the population of the United States. Most of those people live in isolated rural areas and spend hours every day walking to gather water for their family.

For people living in the developing world, access to clean water changes everything. Water means life, access to education, better health outcomes, higher income. For girls – 75% of girls collect the water in rural villages – it means opportunity where there was none before a well was placed in her village. When a community gets water, women and girls can live a full life. Girls go to school. Women start businesses.

We don’t stop with just the well. We use the opportunity to educate the community in basic sanitation and hygiene protocols. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives per week.

These Well of Life projects are placed alongside newly planted churches. They serve as an outreach to the community. Everyone is welcome at the well.
